That end cap looks "familiar"   but the engraving and press work just takes it to another level

That certainly is a "familiar" shape Wookie!
Nice turning job, your lathe is "earning its supper"

Finally, I've finished the Kerker pipe....

I sand-blasted the chromed outer surface, to ensure good paint adhesion...

To be sure, it is a REAL Kerker...

I had to fabricate a new baffle pipe, to fit inside the end-cap (I had to modify it, to correct the damage that the PO had inflicted on it)
32mm OD, mild steel pipe.
I made 680 drill centre marks, but drilled 520, 4mm holes

I have spray-painted the end-cap and pipe, with Rustoleum Ultra High Heat, satin black paint.
Afterward, I riveted on my "home made" Kerker emblem.
(had to fabricate a new hanger bracket too...)

Installed, it looks the part, and sounds sweeeeet!

I take it you don't have a "Custom Chrome" distributor in your part of the world, I bought a meter of pre-drilled tubing for £15

No such luck Wookie!

I used my  lathe to mark out 17 rows and 40 coulmns, then centre-punched 680 drill centre marks ! ! !

However, I ommitted to drill a few rows in the middle area of the tube, thinking it would assist in getting the airflow to go IN at the entrance and OUT at the exit...

The sound is fairly quiet, deep and "throaty" below 5000 rpm...
After 5000 the note changes to a convincing ROAR !

I can hardly believe a whole YEAR has gone by, since finishing the "Tribute" !
(I've ridden close to 10 000km on it already)

Always so satisfying to ride, and brings a smile every time I sling my leg over...

Here she is, in final trim, photographed yesterday evening...

Whatever will be next?....

Howdy folks!

The fairing mounting brackets that I designed and 3D printed do not do my build justice!
However, they served their purpose, as I could use their dimensions to accurately 3D model new metal brackets, that replicate the OE items!

Here is my design of the Left hand side upper bracket, in METAL...

Having access to a laser cutter and CNC bender at work (and a very generous boss ) make fabrication quite trivial!

Here is the result, welded and painted...

This is the lower mounting bracket, which is screwed onto the brake pipe manifold, under the headlight...

The full set:

Installed:
I used all the anti vibration rubber mounting bits that I printed previously.

Alignment is as good as the original...
⅛" clearance all round (to the headlight)

Big Mamma, and Li'l sis...

What remains now is to paint the wheels gold... sometime in the future!
