I will pay $15 for this start switch piece. It holds the light lever in place on some late 70s KZ bikes. I was putting a new start button in my son in laws KZ650 when my 2 yr. old grand daughter tossed the cup full of parts off of a 2nd story deck in to tall grass & weeds. Aside from all of the tiny screws, this is the one piece we couldn't find.  email is best    tmank089@yahoo.com

A magnet sometimes saves the day.  I've located some critical parts caught up in a similar debacle before, that way.

Hate to admit it but I've done a lot of magnet fishing myself, successful less than half the time. But I don't blame you for giving up sometimes you have to know when to stop.

The wiring runs through the handlebars on this bike and that is the reason why i can't just pop another switch on it.......

From the cross-reference at Partzilla a number of 70s models had the same RH handlebar control & lighting switch knob.
Not $15 cheap, but using the x-ref there's a complete 750B RH handlebar control on EB for $25T+tax with Make Offer button, so you can probably get it for a bit less than that.

Could you not buy a used switch and harvest the parts you need rather than replacing the unit ?

I scanned fleabay start switches but getting a buyer to look inside a to answer a question is unlikely to happen. I put the switch back together with the head light left in the on position. If anyone runs across this part I'm happy to buy it......
