Thanks for all that great info.
You say that the W1's and W2's only had a single carb.
My W2 has 2 carbs / 2 petcocks.   I can't say if they are original but they are there.
I did see a W2 tank for sale on Ebay and it also had 2 petcocks.

W1, one carb with 2 fuel inlets on the carb and two petcocks. W2, two carbs, 2 petcocks. I had never heard of the W3, but would tend to agree with Bill that they were never sold in the U.S. market. The W bikes were, and still are, very popular in Japan. Should have THREE carbs, right? (humor)

I found a good write up about a W3 that was for sale a couple of years ago:

Another with history on the whole W series:

I thought I would start a new thread topic called "Bike/Turd Of The Month" but I will let you guys decide where this goes
Just picked up this fairly complete 1979 KZ1000 LTD with only 11,200 miles on the clock.  The sticker on the plate says last registered in 1984.
So only a little more than 2,200 miles a year for five years and then "Put Away Wet".  Might be a good spot for guys to post recent "barn finds" or project bikes awaiting restorations?

Yes, I just got off the phone with Tom Z (the new owner/ seller).
I am tempted to buy it back now that all the hard work has been completed!
