Is the 11.78mm ID on the engine case or on the fittings? I never thought to check those when I had mine apart. I'm also curious as to what the oil passage measures in the stock oil pipe. As long as the opening in the case is at least 1/2", it would be great to have a full 1/2" ID throughout the oil cooler run.

That's what I'm hoping for. Came down with a bad cold, miserable. It's going to be raining all next week. Just got a e=mail from Chaparral after I used my account to check on the tire. $5 discount, hmmm. I'll order the tire in the morning and the fitting on eBay too. Winter sucks. Not as bad as for some of you guys but it sucks anyway.

Kind of spooky how much we're tracked online these days. But hey, you got $5 off! I've never had that happen...not a bad idea on their part.

Pays for most of the shipping. Never could stay down when I'm sick. Could take the truck but that would cost $40 or so. I'll just stay here and do little things on the bike. I'll check the valves too.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHere's a FYI for those looking for odd ball fittings. After looking at plumbing and hydrolic fittings, I remembered A/C fittings come in different sizes and shapes. I ordered the #8 barb fitting and talked to the guy about the other ones. He told me to type in chart so I can download it. He gives them away free with the orders. Nice man. I may be able to get the REAL elbows to fit on the cooler too.

Well, I got the fitting. It's too small. I must be speaking Martian or something. The ID MUST be 1/2"/13mm. Now that the weather is cleared, I can go and chose one myself.

Well they do make 1/4 NPT X 1/2" barb fittings. Just went down the hill to the new True Value and there they were. Much better selection than those other bums. I was planning on getting a double barb, cutting it in half then threading it to fit.The #8 I got was still too small inside. Ready to hook it up. :woohoo:

Did a little work this morning, then got it hooked up. Found some 2X18mm O rings at OR. The old rizer was weeping and a small amount of oil was dripping behind the sprocket cover. Another phantom oil leak solved. ;) Planned on going through the carbs a little more and do the clear tube test. Started getting dark and cold. I put the carbs back on and parked the bike in her spot. The boots are still pushed into the box so I'll do it in the morning. Carb holder screws not quite tight. They are now. B) Must have settled in with the heat. I primed the oil cooler until I noticed the level rising in the peep hole. Just under 1 QT. This may sound odd but it seems to have more oil pressure at idle and rev. More capacity above the engine? They say it's going to be 80* on Friday. Hmmm. February is supposed to be our coldest month.

Working on the carbs and trying to dial them in I noticed the cooler getting hot. I was concerned there might be a air pocket in the top of it being the fittings are on the bottom. It is getting hot top to bottom. I was thinking of pitting a bleeder on it but maybe I won't have to? Still my oil pressure is way up there. Going back out to raise the needles and sync the carbs again. I'll take a clip of the gauge. I don't understand why the pressure would be so high. The gauge is after the cooler so there can't be any restriction. BTW, the oil light works every time now.

Took a clip of the gauge before I adjusted the needles. Oil pressure is way up and the sump isn't overfilling.

As to not hijack another guys thread, I put my test here. I used a water pressure gauge I know is correct. Had to take the bezel off of it to screw it on. I had one like it on the bike for years. UG  It is confirming what I already know. Haven't noticed any problems.
