Well, I tell myself it's progress, but it's hard to qualify it as "progress" when none of it really contributes toward the completion of the bike.... at least not yet. The idea now is to make body parts, sell them, and use that money to fund the bike. The cost of the learning curve is killing me though

Thanks camaroguy, I sure hope so, once I get the kinks ironed out. The sidecovers are great, I have those down, and even the tank bottom wasn't bad, but that tank top kicked my ass. even though this is not a production quality part, I still needed to see it on the bike :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

MKII body work......... is there much of a market for that? Even if a handfull of guys THOUGHT they were interested......this stuff is gonna be too rich for most peoples blood. I hate to predict price points for parts before I've even made the molds, but a complete set with tank, sidecovers and tail is gonna be around $1500.
:pinch:  a lot of guys don't have that much in their whole bike !

I thought I'd take your first set and "test it out", you know, to help you see how it works. I'd prefer a long term test...maybe 20-25 years? We'd have to find out how they perform over the long run. Just sayin I'm there for you if you need me...

Honestly, I think you'd probably have some takers. Paint in the original Z1 scheme is $1400 alone from paintworks. I bet the japanese would jump all over it...

Really? I can see a custom, commercial shop charging that, they have alot of overhead. I don't feel so bad then. 1500 to create new parts, 1400 to paint 'em
