That is the set I bought. not sure I can go any bigger than the current sized hole. May get into the threads. I went with the easy-out since I had such good success with the brake rotor bolts that broke. Yeah, I somehow end up breaking a lot of bolts. It's how eye roll... LOL

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI know this is a few posting late but I want to let you know I just finished a complete LED upgrade on my '78 1000 LTD. The only bulb I couldn't swap out was the brake lite out indicator bulb in the instrument cluster. I had to leave that as incondesent or the Light out relay would flash the dash brake bulb. For the turn signals I tried this flasher suggested by Grcko. All I had to do was swap the wires at the flasher to get the correct polarity and they work awesome. I bough most of the bulbs from Superbright LED.

No flashing click sound

Had to use this style bulb in 1157 and 1156, they were the only style that fit in the TS housings. I bought the warm white for TS and red for brake.

Used these in the gauges and the dash. They were the only ones that fit that weren't to bright. Also in warm white


This is the headlight I used in an halogen carrier I purchased for Redline Cycle. It was suggested by Swest


Helped out a ton, before the upgrade I would loose just about a volt of battery when switching on the ignition. Now battery voltage only drops about .36 of a volt... well worth the effort and I know I will be more visible day and night.

After a break for the Thanksgiving holiday (with lots of family visiting), I am back at it. I finally got the first carb disassembled and into the can of carb cleaner. It was a bitch getting those two float bowl screws removed, but I finally won. I had to get a tap (4mm x .7) to get all the threads clean. I also bought all new screws and lock washers for the float bowls. I am sure I will be doing this a lot with this project since all of the zinc plated factory fasteners are rusted.

I went ahead and ruined the screw driver slot on one of the primary main jets, you know, because it will be fun removing a boogered brass jet that doesn't want to come out... grrrr, I have managed to remove one of the plastic plugs (successfully). I haven't tried the others yet.

Those primary mains can be a bugger. I've striped the head on them before too and also had the threads strip out of the carb body. Be careful.

The Kiehin CV34 carbs have both a Primary Main Jet (the part I messed up), and a Secondary Main Jet. The DynoJet kit states t replace "the main jet" with the one supplied in the kit (stage 3), but does not specify primary or secondary. It does state to make sure you are replacing "the main jet". The part I messed up has a larger thread than any of the parts supplied in the DynoJet kit. After checking on Partzilla, the part I messed up is no longer available. Has anyone run into this issue with the DynoJet kit before? I am assuming due to the thread size it is the secondary main jet that gets replaced - but then I need to find a source for the jet I messed up. Partzilla p/n 92063A.

DynoJet technical support suggested replacing the "secondary main jet" since it was the only one of the two that had the correct thread size (that was what I was assuming to be the case). Which leads me back to a source for replacing the "primary main jet" #39, in the diagram. Sometimes it's not easy to avoid damaging old parts that are frozen in place, soft material like brass, plastic brittled by years in fuel, etc.

I searched by year/model/carburetor parts, and they didn't show up. Thanks for the tip, Nessism! I find some things hard to search for on their website. Inventory is not cross linked very well.
