Very, very nice bike ya have, Rolf!!!

and, by the way.
If you want to have the blinkers / flasher at the same position as original, you ´ve better some ideas to solve it!
I had to cut out a little on both side of the fairing, to fit around the flascher studs,...and i use the "only-round made myself studs", with M10 threads throught the headlight / holders and brackets...
But you can use only screws, and positioning your flashers on an other point ,..maybe on the fork, or frame, handlebar...whatever...Just to think about ;-)

Don´t mention it, it´s a pleasure for me..

And maybe, think about other indicators on front in play with the fairing:

/ To my opinion, these big original Blinkers looks pretty well on an original bike,..but on some customized bikes, like in the neighbourhood of a fairing, they look to big and displaced.....
( You know, opinions are like a***holes, everybody have on, and not everybody want´s to hear them, or smell a fart from it ;-)

Whenever i planned a special custom  option, i take a picture of my bike, and  after that than on PC, i cut out, or draw, or move some part and items, to image, how would look it , or can it be...
Just ideas....You will find the right decision !

Haha  here in Norway we say the taste is like the ass its split in 2. I think i have a set of led blinkers i could use ,but i like the look of the kz1000 i posted on page 1 and that is why i bought the fairing and a guliari seat.so i will try to make it like that bike. I also recent got another cowling for 10 USD !  it is smaller and also the diameter on the headlight hole is smaller  maybe i will fit that, but that will not give much protection from 2 pound norwegian mosxitos flying around.=)

Rolf,
you´re right ;-)  The bike example you´ve shown is pretty well done and nice!
(I have thought aboiut those little fairings also, but  for me, they are too small, and you have to buy and mount a smaller headlight...)

i dunno about the original lengths of the Kawasaki indicator studs, but remember, the original Kawa-flashers have a big diameter, maybe, you will need longer studs..best way to know about, is to hold the fairing in front of your headlight, than you will see, how many space ya will have between both sides...

I´ve  made my blinker studs from Ø 15 mm aluminum, reduced the diameter to 13,98mm to match the Honda blinkers,..the first ones (without the fairing), haven´t been to short with their 50mm outside, now they are 90mm long ( from headlight mounting point), and that a little to long, i think, i will short them about 20 mm each. for a better look.
I have some indicator stalks off a '74 Z1 on my KZ650, they are shorter than those used on the stock 650. The bulb ends are the same size/design as the 650. Those stalks are 75mm long, the C-C on the bulbs is 18" and the overall width about 22".

I used these indicators because they had "good" chrome on them and they were slightly shorter than the rusty longer ones the bike came to me with. They also have a nice radius on the end that mounts to the headlamp ears :)

This is not the bike I am putting the Viper on, its just another example of stock parts from another model.

Today´s sunny, but about 0°C, also in the garages,..but i´ve done some little corrections  on fairing alignment, by bending the brackets a little more , shorten the indicator studs, and measure out what i will need for the upper supporting studs,...now it´s close enough for me with the fitment about, i can live withit ;-)...unsure about paint job, but it´s to close to season opening, and my painter  needs alway a lot of time to fix it, but no prob, it´s black, like the bikes body-parts...

Next month here is "rollout", ( i have a kind of "season permit" from the DoM on my licence plate, so it´s allowed for me, to ride this bike from 1. march to end of september..., and i have to do some very little jobs on it, like oilservice, new pads on rear brake,..some adjustments...and then:  Yeah, another bike season after 5 long month without any riding...

Thank you, TexasKZ.

( Next time, i will change the bike-parking places in my garage, to bring the two bikes in front of the car, than we can have an overall look ,..and we will see, how it´s really  been fitted and adjusted )

I´ve seen this kind of a solution also somewhere, but for me it was no option, at first don´t like the crossing in my view to the instruments, and maybe, the rods come in diagonal contact with the speedo / tach ???
But anyway: Many different roads will reach Rome...Sometimes it will give only one solution, depends on the bike oder custom made style,..or personal taste.
Show us yours !!!
Ride on!

I am no where near close to mounting my Viper fairing on the project bike it is slated for.

Here is a picture of the gauges on my bike (KZ650) the same gauges that are on KZ900. You can see here those "cross" rod would probably clear the gauges but foul on the master cylinder (Daytona touring bar) There may also be a opportunity to mount on the top bolt of the upper triple clamp as previously mentioned.

The only slight issue I see on mounting at the mirror perches is if you need to adjust them.

Personally I keep those clamps a bit on the loose side in case there is ever a tip over (learned that trick working on mountain bikes)
