I've done that ride a few times on both the 1 and the 101. It took 12 hours on the 1! I take the 101, it's more interesting than the 5.
Just make sure your bike is in good shape, the tires and tubes are good, charging syst and battery, the lights, etc.
There are several KZR members between SanFran and LA. If you run into trouble i'm sure any one of us would be happy to help.
Ride safe.........John.

Looks like this will be another thread I'll have to read about. Pictures of this ride please!!!
I'm in the San Francisco Area, so if you have any troubles before you leave on your So-Cal ride, I can be of assistance.
Trying to get back to OC myself.
I miss Bravo Burger on Wednesday Nights with 7 Mary 4. :woohoo:

Ok guys, the date is coming up fast. This should be a great ride. I didn't find a resturant at the Wrightwood exit, just fast food joints, so breakfast before the ride is looking iffy.
As for the meeting place; When you exit the 215 at Wrightwood,(aka the 138),there is a small frontage road on the east side of the freeway. There are gas stations and said fast food places off of this road, we will meet at the end of the road. I will be there early so look for me sitting down there,(in the shadeB) ). The meeting time is 10am Sat June 23rd.
The temp's in the inland valleys will be in the low 100's but once we get up the mountain it should be around 80,(so sayeth the weather channel). It would be a good idea to bring a sweatshirt or the liner to your riding jacket, the weather up there can be unpredictable. I was once caught in a snow storm up there in June:ohmy:  .

Pfffft!
If I can find an egg mcmuffin, or a breakfast burrito, I'll be happy.
I hope to be there about 9:00. The sun should be high enough so my retinas don't fry on the 138, and still cool enough to enjoy the ride.
I sent a PM to Grantl, but haven't heard from him. If he's still planning to go, we'll try to hook up in Palmdale and ride together.

Coming back from Vegas a couple weeks ago I clocked that exit as 62 miles from home. Will be out of here at 8 and be there about 9 or so. And yes KZJohn, I'm gonna man up this time and ride there! LOL Remember waaay back when, we could ride for hours and the only monkey butt was in National Geographic magazine?
