My favorite bike. If I'm ever gonna by one more bike it will probably be a '83 z1000J. On of the first mods would probably be to change the wheels to those you choosed (some of the best looking wheels and the front is 18") paint them black. A low superbike bar and then its just those footpeg hangers.

Are you from Sweden too? I'm from Stockholm.

Keep us posted! I'm looking forward to your updates.

A GPZ 1100 UT rear wheel would be a direct swap for your swing arm and wheel bearing size.

Interesting! It seems to be quite expensive to order the wheel bearing that i would need (80usd) and since i also got information that i would need to machine the chain sprocket about 10mm for this wheel, then maybe i should buy a gpz1100 wheel instead.

I am having some trouble with my rear wheel. I bought a set of Gpz750UT wheels, and the dimensions doesn't line up at all with the rear wheel...

I made a very simple drawing about my problems. If you guys are able to help me i would be very happy. If I am correct i would need to mod more than just one bearing, to make the gpz wheel fit. Any ideas, or have i misunderstood something here maybe?

For your 20 mm wheel/swing arm axle conversion you need a 6204 2RS bearing for your GPZ 750 wheel.

Based on your drawings, you will also need to remove 4mm from the spacers. Whether that comes off equally from both sides or all from one side or some combination depends on how the front and rear sprockets line up. Some folks will say that the rear wheel must be perfectly centered in the frame, but the ZRX1200 and several Harley Davidson models come from the factory with offset rear wheels, and nobody whines about them.

I am genuienly grateful for your help. I spended hours in the garage trying to figure out how to solve the problem with those four millimeters.

So, just to clear my mind here. I would need two new wheel bearings (47x20x14mm) combined with some modification on the spacer? Could i just machine the socket that sits between The bearings on the gpz? That is still only 16mm as the original bearings, and if I am correct that would be an issue as well. Right?

Thank you for your help every one, especially a big Thanks to Scirocco!

Leave the inner spacer (socket) between the new wheel bearings untouched!!!
The inner spacer will keep the ID races of the new (old) bearings in place as same as the outer L/R spacer that maybe need to modify to fit the swing arm opening (maybe).
Do you want to use the Z1000J rear sproket carrier on the GPZ750 wheel, did it fit in the damping Rubbers?
