Run a ground wire from the battery negative post to the engine case

Ok, @F64 thank you for the help.  let me know when to put those wires back together.
I am attaching photos below of the headlight bucket, it's a bit of spaghetti.
It looks like the main blk/yel wire coming into the bucket from the main loom goes to the headlight wiring and a turn signal ground.


 

In the bottom photo I can see an unplugged plug.  Is that coming from your right control switch?  Why is it unplugged?  Where is the other end?

 
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

HRM, this connector in red circle? It’s the turn signal buzzer.

Ground wire is now run from battery negative terminal to engine case.
Readings are
Red probe + , black probe  to neg - = 11.7v
Red probe on pos and black probe engine case = 11.6v

Ok,
Reconnect that small black/yellow relay connector.
Take the jumper wire off that connects it to the negative battery post.
Put the big black cable from the starter back on the starter relay terminal.

Try to start the bike.

Ok,
