Might seem like a stupid question but I am assuming the sleeve is under the circlip that retains the bearing so that it is engaged with the wheel ? If so measure the height and measure the depth of the sensor and you should be able to tell if it is all engaging as it should

Hi Wookie
Yes the sleeve is under the circlip.
I did measure it. And it isn't long enough to engage the slots.
Kind of why I came to the conclusion that it may be the wrong wheel.

Can you make one that is long enough or get somebody to extend the tube if you don't have welding kit ?

Guys, trying to find why my speedo does not work, y arrived to this thread. I took my speedo drive apart to find that the tangs that are supposed to be pulling the drive around are kind of bent inwards.

i think I can try to streighten them ok but would like to get some confirmation that effectively you see the same I do.

I guess I did not assemble the part correctly, and the fork axis pressure, just drove them “in”.

any advice, please? Some pics for reference

Yes, bend them out, but you may have to massage the tube back into a circle, not an oval.

Or I have one I could sell you as I'll be converting to a GPS speedo and removing the sensor. Not sure on it's condition though...its a bit bent like yours but still seems to work

Carlos these are the dimensions I measured for the other guy  (and how it should look) - carefully straighten :)

Well, that worked well. Apparently “tangs” are straight. I managed to find a 1/4 socket that fitted perfectly and also got the entire thing back to circular rather than oval.

Will try it tomorrow. Thank you guys!

FYI, here is what they look like inside.

They are assembled similar to the gauges with a peened over edge and gasket. You could probably get it open and tig weld/epoxy it shut, if you had reason to (ie, could rig up a new hall effect sensor).

Only marking on the electronics is n3006 sk102.

I think that one will need more than a little "araldite" !!!!!! :):)

Yeah... I try not to hack up OEM parts like this, but my gauges were trash and the 28(?)pulse per rev wasn't really compatible with aftermarket gauges. I went with GPS and so I cut this apart for the steel bushing.

Seeing this now, I probably could've tweaked the wheel to send out fewer pulses per rev 🤷 oh well

Seems like I cannot get it to work. There will be no reading, so initially I thought I was unable to assemble it the right way, but I am thinking now that the tangs are not long enough. Will take them apart again this weekend, and measure tangs against your measurements, Wookie.

Saablord, that carnage looks a lot to the things I usually do :-).

If my measurements are not up to spec, I may take up your offer on the used part.

Thank you!
