Some very nice examples to steal good ideas from are right here in the Projects Forum. I'm looking at doing my MKll frame this winter and researching this site found these 2 threads:

1976 OLD SCHOOL SUPERBIKE

76 900 TURBO.

The Turbo thread frame pics are well into the 2nd. page but the triple trees are worth checking out on the way.

79 KZ 1075 MKll
79 KZ 1500 MKll dragbike
Gone but not forgotten:
3 X 73 Z1's
1 X 74 Z1A
1 X 75 Z1B

I certainly wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Kosman to make more. Sandy has been very disappointing - we ordered 25 each of the frame kits and motor mount kits in May 2007. We received 10 of the frame kits (which are all now sold) and are still waiting for the rest of the order. We've called and emailed several times - we've had several broken delivery date promises. Basically he's too busy making HD frames these days. The sad thing was HE CONTACTED US about making the kits.

You can make your own if you have a grinder and about an hour. There are some Japanese sites that have a lot of pics of how they are bracing the frames over there. I'm did mine last year and when I took a look at the jap bikes I decided to redo it all. They focus on the engine "cage" by cutting tubing in half after bending it to match the rear upper portion of the cage. They also add tubes to the front from the steering tube to the frame and so on. When I get off my a** I'll make sure to take a lot of pics when during the process.

Click on where it says "Stripfighter" in my signature and it'll take you to my 900 project. In the thread there is pics of my homemade brace kit. It's not Chromoly but it only cost me about $20 in material and some time.

just remember not to go too crazy bracing these old frames.they suffer the same basic issues of a model A frame, cheap and mass produced .theyre meant to have a certain amount of flex to them,it basically keeps them from cracking someplace else.

THis is from one of our suppliers in Japan. We can get these kits, although they are not that difficult to make if you have the tools.
