Kz front fork swap HELPPP!!!

What's the measurement from the top of the gsxr fork to the centre of the wheel axle? I'm trying to figure out which forks and rear swing are to start looking for, gsxr is what I'm thinking using.

Ah.. not sure about the messurement- I used 05' gsxr 600 front an rear-

the rear i had custom weld to keep side springs(shocks)- it fits PERFECTLY in the kz 1000 frame (removing the rubber chain slide/guide?)
but needed custom steel(7?)(wont ever rust guy said!) Sleeves to match the inner swingarm bearings to the Frame Swingarm 7/8th bolt (running through the frame-swingarm-frame)these Sleeves(2, 1 for each side) were all custom from the same machine shop dont know the messurements i just brought him the hole thing..

i still need to get my 530 chain (not sure the linkage yet)
a 530 front sprocket conversion 5/8th offset (what the wizards have told me)

an hopefully shes rides clean- im excited to get all my parts together an finaly see how she handles with the new upgrades-


still need to do my back brakes as well!!!


plans to turbo too cuz this kerker exhaust is 800$ lol ill do a turbo set up custom make a header for that price!!

Next time you're working on it a fork length measurement would be a big help, thanks for the year and swingarm info. Gsxr seems to be the way I'm heading, was it a mono shock rear set up and you had the shock mounting tabs added?

I'd have to dig it out of my build thread, but I'm running '06 GSXR 1k forks which should be the same length as the 600 forks. I believe the forks were 28.5" or so from top of cap to center line of axle. Hope that helps. If you need an exact measurement, I can take one when i get home.

Cheers, that would be great. Can you link your build thread, I'd like to check it out. I'm still in the preliminary end of things, but I'd like to do my homework before I start looking for parts. I'd like to get a list going so I know what the hell I'm looking for when things start popping up. Just missed out on a complete inverted gsxr front end a friend was selling cheap, wheel, brakes the whole shebang...

nice nice- i have been told the gsxr 1000 are the same an ive been told they are different- personaly i think the back tire is jsut a 190 stead of 180- not sure tho---

Yaa Gringo- the frame is 80 LTD 1000- motor i believe is a 77? 1000~ but i believe im running OLDer wiring- whick im thinking HIGHLY of getting ALL new wiring~ lot of spliced and different gauges. dyna ignition- stuff like that- maybe be a reason why i dont think its as fast as it should be-

Last night I threw a tape on my forks and got 28.375" from center line of axle to top of fork. I thought it was longer than that.....
