Agreed... X2. Thus my decision to weld and recenter to the right press fit. Still will use the Loctite even with the correct fit. I never want it to come apart again.

Do your self a huuuuuuuuuuuuuugggge favor, as you already mentioned, "It just seems like if I am going to go that far, just have a new bushing made and be done with it."......
YES INDEED.... Take it apart, get a Steel bushing fabbed up for ideal fit and pressed in, weld the stem and bushing in on the bottom and have some piece of mind...

To get that coupling pressed into the bottom tree, had to use 20 Ton press...
But hey, your build, whatever works and you're good with it all the better.

MFolks wrote: When doing press fits, I use some 3-in-one oil as a light lubricant(or in your case red Loctite). Keep in mind, if you're using the bearing fit Loctite, it will set up quickly due to the generated heat from squeezing.
Yeah I don't think it will be required to use that loctite, but figure it can't hurt. Based on my materials attributes books, I took it a tad on the aggressive side with the +.002" interference for the temp ranges the triple will encounter, but I wanted a fit that I never should have to take again since it was steel into aluminum. I appreciate the insight on the press technique.
