So if you dismantled the bike and sold the frame the title should have gone with it then, other wise its a worthless piece of paper unless somebody is trying to cover up a stolen bike or make a bike apear to be something it never was by changing a serial number.z1kzonly wrote: WTF? all re-stamps are not stolen! I dismantled 10 or so bikesa in the past 30 years.
just drag racing, dirt drag racing or selling for parts. All that was left was the title.
And yes there are people out there who have gone so far as to use a titled steering head and part of the frame tubes to weld back into a differant frame, one of these days Ill right a book of some of the things ive seen done locally around here in last 30 plus years(maybe include a few names to keep it interesting       )

Id say its closer to 98-99% of the cases youll ever see have that rib on them, but there are those rare exceptions before somebody posts a picture of 1 before somebody calls us on it.4TheKZ1000 wrote: exceptions are possible. you are the glass is half empty type of guy.

Ive got lots of old titles and keys also, title aint worth anything without the correct frame with matching numbers though.z1kzonly wrote: Got 4 titles sitting in the gun safe.
hell Ive still got the key and title to my first 50 chevy pickup we pulled out of a corn field close to 35 years ago,its just a piece of paper without the cab and vin numbers though. :woohoo:
