Here's what I did for protecting the lower cross tube. Delrin clamp, should last a life time.

That's good info too Alan. Thanks! My chain is hitting the peg bolt though which is my challenge at the moment. Does that clamp create clearance between those two bolts?

Eh, not sure you can run the bolts sticking out, with and offset sprocket, and a larger sprocket. I used socket head cap screws for my rearset adapters and cut them down to flush. Yours looks like you'll have to shave off the threaded bung too. Is that a big fat x-ring chain? You could try to move the slack side of the chain up above that bung with a slider, but I would guess it would mess with the chain slack as the swingarm moved up and down.

Ok so did you just use locktight on the screws to keep them in?

130 link DID vx chain. Purposely chose it for being a bit smaller at 23.3mm vs the standard 25-26 in the top of the line chains. The non o-ring DID is 22.5 so I didn't think it was worth the trade off.

As far as messing with the slack I will take video of the suspension compressing and let me know your thoughts. With the rear shocks having two springs it doesn't compress much.

Haybus where did you get that clamp I like it better than my fix for the problem. What is it made of?

I am no expert but what I did to determine chain tightness was to adjust chain snug when the swinger was at it's most level ,longest point. If you think your shocks will prevent you from getting there adjust so chain is snug at that point.Hopefully it won't stretch my chain.

Locktite on what screws? The bolts holding the adapters to the frame, yes. it doesn't move much when you're pushing on it, but throw a few road G's at it and it will move quite a bit.

Baldy, the black clamp is just something I made on the lathe and mill out of Delrin. I think the picture of the plastic strip affixed to the cover is a novel idea as well.
