My other concern is the OP said he had 1974 Z1A lowers, but mentioned it has lower caps with arrows.Not to upset the apple cart here, but a lot of Z1 owners turned their forks around.

Same principle applies. Gap to the back. If you look closely you'll see the casting line on the forward section of the clamp. Hard to miss.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I think the caps are interchangeable from 73 to at least 80, if not later.

Funny how people envision the same situation. I went to the wrong forks, HRM goes to wrong axle clamps. That never crossed my mind.I think the caps are interchangeable from 73 to at least 80, if not later.

NO! caps are not the same for Z1 to the KZ they are 2 different thickness's or something like that. I have sold a few, both styles over the last 20 yrs.
