WOW! Talk about a man with a plan. Sounds like you thought things out pretty thoroughly. And I must say, I think that's about the cleanest engine I've ever seen. I don't think it came out of the factory looking that well!

LOL you must've worked your butt off to get that done that fast. Did you clean or paint the engine to make it shine like that?

bekz: Surprisingly it was fairly easy to take her apart so quickly. The thing that took the most time was taking pictures of the process so I know how everything hooks up when I put it back together, and bagging/labeling all the parts/bolts/screws/etc.

As far as the engine goes, I have used some degreaser here and there, but still want to power wash it soon. There are parts of the engine that are still a little dirty. Not sure yet if I am going to polish it and paint certain parts of engine, or just keep it the way it is and polish the engine covers.

Thanks Chaotic Reason! I have been looking over thousands of pics and read probably hundreds of forum discussions to see what people have done to their bikes. I also have checked many bike parts websites looking at prices and finding which parts will work for this bike and which won't. It has been time-consuming, but I love it and wouldn't do it any other way.

Welcome..Don't over look the stem bearings. They make tapered bearings now and they really work well. I put a set of Progressive shocks on mine. Go with another brand. I hear Hagen are good. Best of luck. Start.

Hello, Jetfuel, and WELCOME to KZr! :cheer:

Could begin by clicking here > www.z1enterprises.com/catalog.aspx?pid=KZ1000-B4-1980-WB1

The "stainless" brake hoses start on page 3.

Good Fortune! :)
