You are very welcome. Bought my '73 Z1-900 from a sailor in Pearl Harbor in December 1974 by the way.

I painted all the HPD KZ1000s back in 1978/79 when they traded in their 900s for 1000s. I have three bikes that I brought back from there in my stable. Here is an old picture when I bought My first Z1R in 1978. As you can tell, it was taken in Kaneohe.

This picture was taken right off of the end of the runway at what was KMCAS back than. I you notice in the picture you will NOT see H3 going up the side of the mountain yet. At that time, H3 started at the main gate and ended at the Cam. Hwy. The pavement actually continued past the Koolau golf club but was not accessible by vehicle pas the Cam. I also bought mi ATP Z1R and My 79 KZ1300 at Cycle City also. I should say that I Won my KZ1300. It was a giveaway from the dealership and KDUK radio.

I saw an ad for a '73 Z1-900 in the Honolulu Advertiser in December 1974. I called the sailor for some details about this Z1. I flew over to Oahu from Kahului, got a pal in Waipahu to drive me to Pearl, bought the Z1, rode the Z1 to Honolulu International Airport, drained the gas, put it on a pallet and got another pal, who "happened" to work for Aloha Airlines, load my new purchase into an Aloha Airlines 737 for the short flight back to Maui. Removed bike from pallet after landing in Kahului, added gas, and drove it home.
