Radio shack sells a black spiral wrap that will fit brake lines, I believe it's 1/4", but will expand to fit larger lines.

Just in time, I tried to buy some lines over the phone today and the guy told me to just take my old lines in to some one and have them match them up.
Which ain't a bad idea.
but I may have to rethink this .

3-AN fitting will fit most -3AN Lines. mixing brands isn't as big of an issue
and of course the zx is a 10mm fitting with a 10mm x1.25 pitch banjo bolt
I ordered mine for the back yesterday

i've been having a hard time to get an answer on the fittings needed to convert the stock lines on a 77 kz650 to a single line.
banjo at master cylinder 10mm x 1.25
0 degree or 12 degree banjo at master cylinder?
35 inches in line length from master cylinder to caliper
90 degree male fitting (10mm) at the caliper (galfer fk728c)?
i don't want to get the fittings wrong since they're custom ordered...any feedback would be appreciated

u can also order universal Russell lines from Z1E.(unless u want a custom color) u order hose to length, and ends. then u screw the ends on when u get them. if u make a mistake , u order a new end only. this is very simple u will be fine.
Perhaps, if u posted a pic,of master and cal, we could be more helpful?.
ps. make sure the forks r fully extended when measureing line lengths.

this is my MC
www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-caferacer...ver-kit-17-653b.html
and this is the front brake caliper
kawtriple.com/tripleed/webpage7/361l.jpg
the reason it may be difficult for me, and maybe i'm over thinking it, is because there are several options for banjo fittings (at least with the MC). i believe i can run a 0 degree or a 12 degree. what the difference would be, i don't know. so if someone already had the fittings tested, that would solve any questions i would have.

as for the caliper. Im wondering if a 45* may be best. Unless there is no room at the base for a 45 to turn up and back,(it may need to turn up and out due to the U shape, around the current line) unobstructed, I think it would work.
I don’t see u using a 90* there.
Do u have an old line u could play with to figure it out ? if not, maybe u could order 1 straight end from Z1E and see how it fits.
I imagine that u will be using straight fittings at the splitter?
What do u think about using the Russell do it your self lines ?
just a thought. maybe u should start a new thread with the bike type in the title. maybe u will get more interest from like riders. u could copy and past this stuff into it ?

mark1122 wrote: we would need to see a pic of the master mounted. but if no one has the info u need, just mount it . then decide how u want the lines to run. u dont have to follow the original path. its what ever u like best. realistically, a straight or 12* aren’t that dif, i dought that it could cause an issue unless u had some obstruction..

my clip-on's are on backorder so i can't mount the MC yet.
i don't understand your 45* banjo theory. i plan on replacing the rubber stock lines and hard line with a stainless one (bypassing the splitter) since the MC is wired for one. i've posted on several boards to no avail. all i need is 1 dude to chime in on a single brake line setup so i can get the correct fittings at the MC and caliper.

the pic u posted showed that u had dual front brakes ?
u can put 1 or 2 lines on a master. u just use a dif bolt. if u use 1 line from master to a cal, u would jump from 1 cal to a second cal with another line. i thought u had dual front brakes ?
i personally feel that using the slitter, keeps the lines neater and easier to keep out of harms way.
please explain how u r routing the lines?

if u didnt like routing the lines to the cals in front of the forks, u could move the cals back, behind the forks.
i just traded the right and left forks around on mu kz back in the 80's.
this is what i got.
