stupid new people and their dumb ideas, huh?? i belong to a couple of other forums so i know what it's like to have the new guy come in talking dumb stuff. but that is why i joined here because i know nothing about these. and, i'm glad i did. within an hour or two, i stopped myself from making a huge mistake with this thing.

 We're all breathing a sigh of relief. You've come in to one of the Icon's of all motorcycles. Bring it back to where it belongs and keep an eye out for one a little newer one to bob. I'm very jealous right now.

Good Luck

Now I loves me some bobber but if you were to cut on that thing you would be a hunted man. There would be no place for you to hide. They'd find your dried out body along with a note sayin' you shouldn't have done that and a KZR patch.

"the 4 cylinder bikes look like crap when made into a bobber anyway." Awww come on. Who made you Joan Rivers of the bikes anyway?

Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

although the 77s & 78s were built in larger #s i still hold them in high regard & figure thier value will only climb if kept original. just on age alone u know u got a winner with a pre 80 kz/ltd. just my opinion.by the 80s we became a dispoable society, nothing built to last,so we buy more. i truly believe somebody be kickin my kaw over 30 yrs from now sayin wow !!!!! ace

Restore it.She is a classic. It will all be worth it at the end.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Trust me. Take your restored Z1 ANYWHERE and park it next to a long line of Harley's, bobbers or what have you. Guess what bike everyone is going to be looking at and talking about ;)
