As somebody hinted, you can do a proper restoration close to stock, buying reproduction items etc at a fair price and still have a stunning looking bike without spending all your money.

thanks for all the help everyone. i'm gonna order some parts to get it running first and then work on getting it looking a little better. i need a new set of intake boots for the carbs and a front tire to start off.

was thinking about getting the 4 individual air filters but not sure if that is the wrong direction to go. is the original air box worth keeping in a project like this??

is the original air box worth keeping in a project like this??... Yup.

Whether you use it or not, do not get rid of it for getting hard to come buy any longer and due to carb jetting issues some prefer this set up. Now for original restoration, speaks for itself, yup you'll want to keep that box.

As in any restoration, car, bike, boat etc... OEM original, equates to increased value $$$ if selling. Downfall, cost you more to restore if your buying OEM original versus reproduction parts...
