I'm getting caught up and was looking at your brake setup again. I'm thinking this may be my next project to tackle. It's still the nicest conversion I've seen to date.

Thanks again, all the details are here about the brake setup. My suggestion is to mary into a family where the father has a machine shop.

First Permanent ride the Z1R since Dec1977 (220,000km) as of June 2015
Second permanent bike 1989 FJ1200 dyno'd 140RWH, great bike.
Third ride is now the Frankenstein 1981 GPZ1100B1, 1983 fully recon motor fitted LOVE THIS BIKE
Forth my work bike FJ1200 1989 (same type as FJ above)

Funny, no-one noticed the 50cent coin glued to the rear brake calliper, I tried to buy special labels but each cost about $5, so I glued an Oz 50 cents and looks great, if I run out of fuel I now have spare change (if I can get it off).

P.S the the tax employees, don't dob me in

Well, please add me to the "I don't know how I missed this thread" group. Awesome Z1-R!! I love what you've done with it, especially the front brakes. Beautiful motorcycle!

Now maybe we can get Les to make those brake parts for us? Please?? :) :) :)

Thanks again, as stated before, the beauty of these brakes is that they don't appear to overtax the front forks (that was my biggest concern). I added these callipers after a particular ride, the person I was riding with had a VFR750, some sheep ran onto the road and he stopped while I shot past him (brakes fully on) just missing him and the sheep (and no I wasn't tail gating).
The callipers are actually R6 2006? model, not many realise the R6 callipers are the same as the R1 only the master cylinder and the size of disks are different. The current Z1R brakes are both powerful without being grabby and they have lots of "feel" (although I'm sure if I grabbed a handful it might be a different story, lets hope I never find out).
