Some small steps due to lack of time.
Removed the valves and seals and cleaned everything up.
Did not have the right tools so made my own from a door hinge :lol:
All masked with tape and ready for fresh VHT paint job tomorrow.

I was in Atlanta this weekend and the only stores open on easter Sunday where Mcdonald's and Summit racing....
So bought myself a burger and some proper tools.

i knew the door hinge would work fine as soon as i seen it 
i have bought several kinds of valve keeper installers and always end up using picks with greased keepers to install them.

The valve keeper installer works like a charm.
You can wack it with a hammer but I did press it with some force and it worked.
Well worth the money.
Engine is buttoned up again.
Valves job done including new valve stem seals and shims within limits.
Also Installed 3 new sprockets.
Tomorrow finishing up and starting.

An oil leak free Z1000
After the first test-drive I had some leaks around the base seal but after retorquing the head bolts I am safe.
The ride went great but 5 minutes after taking these pictures I ran into trouble.
Hortin and snorting and no full power
After fiddling around with the carbs and petcock I found out by accident (touching the exhaust) that nr 1 and 4 where a lot colder than 2 and 3.
So that told me that should be a the coil and after taking of the tank for the 30th time I found a wire disconnected.
Reattached it and after some flames out of the exhaust from the unburned fuel there, it runs like a charm again.

Starting driving in small circels around the block and increasing distance with increasing reliability
Just bought a new head from a fellow in England to have a backup for mine.
If the cracks are getting any larger I will replace it but for the moment all OK.
