I don't think I can avoid finding a rear wheel much longer. There's a big area now just begging to be filled with a fat rear tire :cheer:

Too bad that We are seperated by 1500mi. We have a killer industrial parts washer at my shop that sees no use. It would be perfect for your perposes. I had the same thought about semi-assembling the motor, but I'm glad that I didn't do it. Finish the dirty jobs before you tackle the cleanup before the final assembly.

It is too bad there's a 1500 mile gap. Anything over 1200 is too far to drive to use a parts washer  But I appreciate the sentiment non the less!

As an uninformed observer I have a couple questions for you.

1. How are you planning to brace the tail, or are you?
2. Are you concerned at all at how thin the front of the bushing hole ended up? From the pictures it look *mighty* thin. Are you planning on reinforcing it somehow?

Fun project to watch! I'm staying tuned...

Do you plan to add some gusseting or something to strengthen the frame where you bored the swingarm pivot holes? Ed

i may be wrong cause its early sat morning and I havnt got all the cob webs out yet....but I think the bushings that will be welded in there will be there own support....I think they will be fine the way they are as long as they are welded properly.

Nice stuff man, very nice.

Are you really putting your engine in the dishwasher? That might just be a good idea.....

Valid questions DoubleD-
1. The tail will recieve smaller, thinner down tubes in a new location (undetermined as of yet)
2. The front section of the stock frame gusseting's not only *mighty* thin, its gone! As Irishwill has pointed out, once the bushing is welded around on each side and accross the front gusset where it's open, I believe it'll be a non issue.

As 650ed has noticed, the stock gusseting looks a little anemic with the new pivot bushings. I'd like to improve on the gusseting, I just haven't turned my attention there yet ;) That work will most likely come with the rest of the frame bracing B)

I finished up the frame modifications and the Triumph single sided swingarm is there to stay :woohoo: :woohoo:

But I couldn't resist slapping the tank seat and tail on there, just to get a feel for the look :P

I know it's an optical illusion since I'm missing the rear wheel and the Triumph arm is a little longer than the stocker, but it looks a little.....short in that pic. Now I'll need to source the shock and linkage while I fab up the upper and lower rear motor mounts B) Not to mention a rear wheel......
